Memory Lane Bombing

Happy Ending 02:46
our fate was sealed long ago how was I supposed to know we’d still be here facing not far away chasing angry erasing the blood on my hands that isn’t there from digging tunnels through your hair pulling thoughts out from my mind a trail of dirt I never left behind where’s the heart I made crafted from the serenades I sang myself to sleep sometimes reality’s not that deep somehow I moved on from that phase empty and shuddering, writing songs for days elected to ignore my urges already fading away to ensure you would stay
2.
a hole in her chair a hole in her spirit a hole in her heart a hole in her sky a hole in her floor taking apart her flaming absence burns golden opportunities that had to wait her flaming absence burns a gently crumbling state the missing face on the painted wall winking irises to them all bowing in turn and kneeling down for the idol in the gown
3.
Valentine 03:31
on your way back down find your footing, find your ground come back being mine hold me in sweet valentine shallow minds may swim by your window on a whim paper hearted mine fold me in sweet valentine on the wing, back down pinned my shoulders, went around lower as it goes climbed my shoulders, all we know is sometimes it’s okay but sometimes he must run away stealing words and phrases they don’t mind it so it’s okay
4.
the ashram called, they need me today pay for my sins and not fly away I can’t accept my fate saying good comes to those who wait but what am I waiting for? good’s not coming through that door they say when you grow older, you grow more wise and other fairly adult lies I just have mistakes and severed connections and a growing collection of Xs and Ys my demons called, absorbing the hate fly on the wall, as they celebrate merrily at their peace drunk on my excuses and pleas hell is a colder place when their truth bombs bear your face
5.
escape this hell escape this hell how’s your place looking tonight? can I lie on the rug and stare into space? is that okay? is that all right? I’ll always be bitter but what’s the point in passing blame it’s no one’s fault that we can’t hang there’s always tomorrow I’ll always wonder but I won’t ask why the space is yours and you let me fly in it sometimes the happier times textbook cling it’s the same thing over and over it’s not a surprise hope through the peephole my night can be saved facing the wall with clouds in my eyes
6.
she likes it blue never red or gray in her bedroom where she sleeps all day she likes it cool never hot or warm she misses you but hopes you never come she likes it blue rain before the storm in her kitchen watching clouds explode she likes it wet so she can forget she likes it blue like the tears dried on her face each every day
7.
Camera 07:05
the camera never lies until the spirit inside it dies forging a honed craft of identity so I don’t know what it sees in me the halos burn the skin leave scars behind on chests and backs the clouds burst tone in spades to find the breaking parallax the distance grows between the live wire and the old machine the wire hides its pains the gears stop turning and the wire rains days pass and nothing has changed inside am I acting out of good faith or trying to hide? will the whole world hate me now that it knows me? march up to the pillars with halos for scars afraid of constant change but I’m not ready to die the camera never lies
