most people seem to dream about a future shared
with someone they cherish and envision with forever
while I usually don't think like that
occasionally it crosses my mind

so what's the deal?
do I get my forever?
a future shared with a happily ever after
I guess I don't
and if it's not obvious I won't
search for a storybook ending
pages bending

so what's the rush?
I've wasted years on useless crush
the feeling hasn't returned and I'm happy for that

works for most but for me it's out of place
