jackass2313 this is like, surprisingly melodic, strong rec. Very hard to choose a fave song, could be the first one, could be Sleep Is A Weapon... god damn man. Favorite track: We Are The Triangles.

Ghost Hands 02:31
ghost hands burning the curtain and pulling the strings as the seraph sings of where next we are to go clipping the eye and extending the mouth we are headed south there's been a miscalculation the story is chosen the party is frozen
2.
Fission 04:40
An armed struggle between two wars And a slipping span of retention A jump into pools of attention Free way to make an enemy An arm struggles between two worlds And the work can’t justify the cost A lump in the throat of the lost Freeways to dump the enemies Into the dead skin ocean Do you live in an office? Do you love who you serve? Do you live in your office? What do you deserve? A warm snuggle between two women With finger guns in your ears Unlike your good company You can’t abort the mission Do you live in the dead skin ocean? Drowning in all of your actions? Do you live in the desert? Removed from the warring factions And making fractions of worlds

G2A 02:31
Lose the touch, embrace the rush Take in hush, nothing matters Gray to alpha, stolen keys Opened knees, nothing sadder Working titles often stick Changing is what makes us sick Always sitting on the edge Of all time Sitting in a tiny room Had to hang the Christmas lights Just like every other night For all time Office noise, professional poise Out of joys, broken patterns Unknown voices, incorrect choices Blasted poison, back to Saturn

I have found the ceiling where the yelling wallpaper is peeling and underneath revealing a shrine for the departed healing who's there couldn't hear the screaming what's left as the tears start streaming hope is not a straight line home but none of us are dreaming light is not an arrow but at least it's slightly beaming

I’m wearing red and black on my arm That’s what was put there for me For recognition and identification For would-be murderers to see You’re wearing pink and blue on your arm We’ve been deemed a similar type of monster In the words of the song That we’re trying to get wrong Says we hang at dawn Leave our clothing on the lawn We are the triangles And we’re starting a fire To keep ourselves warm In this cold night before Our revolution storm Let’s start a new life Let's start a new world

Belief 03:37
it takes years to build a fountain it takes two days to burn the whole thing to the ground what kind of person do you think you are? biases rose, on with the shows you don't have a clue when it benefits you you're getting farther what kind of person do you think you are? what have you built of this to become? a shrine for the surest of selves you're heading farther down

Jack Of Legs 02:26
How do you stand so tall to send a message? Someone needs their eyes to feel your shadow Arrows give pause to the undrawn straws in the running Burnt-in circles, dead grass in an oval Dead deal with the headphone demon They can’t hear you Over and over The sound of cold decision-making Collar white for favor-taking What are the odds that no one sees you coming? Water inside the moat they keep around Fabric over eyes to feign ignorance Cotton in to block the echoed sound Ordeal with the Jack of Legs They don’t fear you Over and over The promise of a promised land Gifted by a gifted hand

I Will Drift 02:08
you gave me too many chances and I abused them all thinking this was who you really were instinct bit and overtook my thoughts knowing this seemed more and more like her but things can change wait it out and just stay sane there will be a day when you will care if I just drift away experiments that may or may not work efforts to expand my scope, try something new I think I'm coping quite all right why couldn't I have been like this with you?

careless child with a death wish standing right in front of the target vessel for a mass of falling debris breaking/splitting/cracking...on impact nothing holding itself together sinking deeper into the mud dare you say for sure you care for him as he attempts to self-destruct scrap metal boy

101 Guitars 03:05
I heard your request consider yourself blessed I remembered but I think you're asking a lot for an inquiry after December how could I please your encroaching disease of collection? I don't know who gave you the infection but since you started giving directions I felt it mattered to make a correction you're not getting all of the songs in the world but I could gather 100 guitars and let you play along

sleep is a weapon used for control to scope out a target, to burn another hole fired like a child running down a train jilted and stunned like a passive brain tilt open the window as you're shot through it middle of nowhere, you can't stake out forever when the call comes, you're well as dead and the blood pours through your head and into your stomach

to be discovered lighter than air too passionate to really care there's no one I want "more than you" is nothing to draw a straighter line not today, not ever not in any point in time what is this "love" I hear of? a fiction to me stone cold in a heat wave or a widespread disease to spend one life with one person a futile exchange most end before the one lives do but no one finds it strange

about

This one feels more "song-based" than most HW albums, at least in terms of how I wrote it. The original version of this album was the exact opposite, and trying to fit lyrics to those songs was such a problem that I restarted the album. Specifically, the original vision was for every song to have a distinct A and B, where the song would effectively become a different song before it ended. This idea seemed great on paper.

The original versions of "Glass Hands" and "The Yelling Wallpaper" appear on the Jack Of Legs EP as the only songs from FOW V1 to receive vocals.
"G2A" was written for V1 but re-recorded for this. In fact, it was this song that caused me to restart the album.
"Fission" and "Jack Of Legs" were lyrics-first. I had no concept of how the music for those would go until I sat down to record them.
"We Are The Triangles" and "101 Guitars" originated from the sessions for No Use Crying Over Spilled Blood. Original versions of both exist.
"No One I Want" was written for No Victories in 2021, but I didn't think my original vision held up so I shelved it at the time.
"I Will Drift" and "Scrap Metal Boy" predate Hello Whirled. The most hardcore of HW fans will note that I attempted to re-record "I Will Drift" for Romantic Distance back in 2018.
"Belief" was written and recorded on the spot in my basement. Thanks Dan (aka Signal Valley) for engineering that session.
"Sleep Is A Weapon" was a voice memo on my phone. It wasn't a very old one, just something I had that had lyrics already.
